Be Holy
1 Peter 1:15-16
But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

To be holy is to be dedicated or consecrated to God. Sacred and pure
The phrase “Be holy” is a command found in the bible. Because it is a command we are compelled to obey it.

1 Peter 1:16 says
Be Holy, as I am holy.
Meaning, God has given us an example to follow.

To be holy, we have to:
– Confess our sins, ask for forgiveness and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus ( 1 John 1:9)
– We do not have to recompense evil for evil (Romans 12:17)
-We have to submit our will to the Father and say like Jesus did, not as I will but as thou will ( Mark 14:36)
-We have to let our yes be yes and our no be no ( Matthew 5:37)
-We have to love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul and our neighbor as ourselves. ( Matthew 22:37-39)

As we fulfill our mission as effective ministers and ambassadors for Christ, we need to pray and ask God to help us stay away from sin and seek to please Him in all we do.

Suggestions for success
1. Study the word and obey what it says.
2. Reflect on your actions in the past week, find where you fell short( things you did that are not holy)
3. Pray for grace to do better in the coming week.

Prayer
Let this song be your prayer

Lord prepare me
To be a sanctuary
Pure and holy
Tried and true
With Thanksgiving
I will be a living
Sanctuary for you
Amen.
