Jesus our mediator
1 Timothy 2:5-6
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,; who gave Himself as a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
A mediator is someone who settles a dispute or conflict between two individuals or two waring factions.
The verse above says Jesus is our “mediator”, He resolves issues between God and humans.
Technically we are not in conflict or dispute with God but Isaiah 59: 2 says
But your iniquities or sins have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear
When we sin, we create a rift between us and God who hates sin. Jesus then steps in and reminds God about the sacrifice He made for the forgiveness of our sins.
God reconsiders His decision to penalize us and retores His relationship with us and gives us another chance to repent and turn away from our sins.
However, the fact that Jesus is our mediator does not give us the liberty to abound in sin or continue in our sins.
Romans 6:1-2 says
What shall we say? Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Dear student, worker, and ambassador of God, when you are faced with the decision to renounce your faith or die. Hold fast to the confession of your faith and pray for grace and strength to wait for the move of God.
God be with you
Suggestions for success
1. Never give up on your faith
Prayer
Let this hymn be your prayer
Oh Jesus I have promised
To serve you to the end
Be thou forever near me
My master and my friend
I shall not fear the battle
If thou art by my side
Nor wonder from the pathway
If thou will be my guide
Oh let me feel thee near me
The world is ever near
I see the sights that dazzle
The tempting sounds I hear
My foes are ever near me
Around me and within
But Jesus draw thou nearer
And shield my soul from sin.
Amen.
