Learn to serve
Matthew 23:11
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
There are stories of people who were promoted or placed in a place of honor because they served their masters faithfully.
It is important to note that there is dignity in hard work. In fact the bible says in 2 Thessalonians 3:10
……if any would not work, neither should he eat.
Jesus Himself gives us an example of learning to serve others in John 13:1-17 where He washed His disciple’s feet. In John 13:14-15, He says
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet
For I have given you an example, that ye do as I have done to you.
We should all learn to serve one another, it does not matter whether someone is your junior in school or your subordinate at work.
In school be willing to help the junior who is being abused by seniors. If possible help with work or punishment he/she has been given. Galatians 6:2 says,
Bear one another’s burden……
At work, be willing to help new staff understand their schedule and make them feel at home. Do not be weary in well-doing ( Galatians 6:9). Even if all the hard work is left for you to do. Do it cheerfully.
As a minister of God, do not seek to be seen by all as being a faithful ambassador of Christ. Be willing to work quietly behind the scene. The story of the Pharisee who trusted in his righteousness and the tax collector who accepted he was a sinner.( Luke 18:9-14)
God be with you
Suggestions for success
