One day at a time!! [ April 22, 2024 ]

Daily Word 🇬🇭

One day at a time!!
Lamentations 3:22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases
His mercies never will come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is thy Faithfulness!

The phrase “one day at a time” directs us not be worried about the future but learn to concentrate on maximizing the use of our time and resources in the present.

In the passage above, the Lord demonstrates that He only wants us to live one day at a time because He makes daily provision of His grace and mercy.

Scripture also says in Matthew 6:11 that

And give us this day our daily bread

No need to stress about tomorrow because God will certainly provide what you need. He is faithful.

Do not take more than you can handle in a day. The resources and ability God provides for His children are just enough for each day.

Philippians 4:6-7
Have no anxiety about anything
But in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God which passeth all understanding will keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus

This verse from the new testament also directs us not to fret or worry.

We should just call on God if for some reason we think we do not have enough grace to complete a day’s assignment.

He will understand because He knows our weaknesses as humans. Psalm 103:13-14 says

….God is mindful that we are but dust
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust God and do what is right.

Song for meditation

Let this song be your confession and prayer

I am only human
And I’m just a woman
Help me believe in all I can be
And all that I am
Show me the stairway
I have to climb
Lord for my sake
Teach me to take
One day at a time

One day at a time Sweet Jesus
That’s all I’m asking from you
Give me the grace
To do everyday
What I have to do
Yesterday is gone oh Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine
Lord help me today
Show me the way
One day at a time.
Amen
