Add to your faith
2 Peter 1:5-7
And beside this, giving all diligence, and to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge, temperance and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness charity( love)

Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. In other words it involves calling the things that be not as though they were like God did in the story of creation in Genesis 1.

The passage above says it is not enough to just have faith, you must add virtues such as knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly affection etc., To make it complete and more valuable.

The story of how Joshua led the people of Israel to the promise land confirms this. He did not need faith in God only but he also needed knowledge, temperance , patience, godliness and brotherly affection to manage the stubborn Israelites and lead them safely to the promise land. Read the book of Joshua in the bible for more details.

In Joshua 3:5 he had to ask them to sanctify themselves. At another time he had to ask them to choose between God Almighty and other deities.( Joshua 24:15)

Dear student, worker and ambassador of Christ when it seems that you do not have enough faith to overcome a challenge or obstacle ask God through prayer to add to your faith the virtues listed in the passage above. He will answer and help you add virtue to your faith. Matthew 19:26 says with men it is impossible but with God all things are possible
God be with you

Suggestions for success
1. Seek to add more virtue to your faith in order to improve your performance at school, work and in your ministry.

Prayer
Let this hymn be your prayer and confession

My faith looks up to Thee
Thou lamb of calvary
Savior divine
Now hear me while I pray
Take all my guilt away
O let me from this day
Be wholly thine

May thy rich grace impact
Strength to my fainting heart
My zeal inspire
As Thou hast died for me
O may my love to Thee
Pure, warm and changeless be, a living fire
Amen
