Do not be hearers only
James 1:22
Be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves

To be a hearer of the word of God only is to listen or read the word carefully, understand, believe, and accept it but not obey it.

The verse above says, when you do that you are deceiving yourself. Verse 23 and 24 of James 1 says when you do that you are like someone who looks at his image in a mirror and forgets how he/she looks like.

Meaning it does not benefit you in any way. If you want to reap good success and prosperity, then study the word and obey it as Joshua 1:8 says.

When you study the word thoroughly you can find a verse to direct and comfort you in whatever circumstances you find yourself in.

Students, workers and ambassadors of Christ need the word of God urgently for:
– Direction (Psalm 119:105) Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
-God to provide the desires of our hearts (Psalm 37:4) Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall grant you the desires of your heart.
-God to transform or renew our minds (Romans 12:2) But be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind..

The word of God should be our manual for life
God be with you
