The lifter of my head
Psalm 42:11
Why art thou cast down, Oh my soul? Why art thou disquieted with in me? Hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise Him, Who is the health (lifter) of my countenance
God is the lifter of my head gives the impression that the Psalmist is so weighed down with his problems that he cannot lift his head or countenance. Too sad and too discouraged.
Hebrews 12:1-2 says
Since we are encompassed by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and sin…,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame…..
The passage above says instead of being weighed down by our problems and sins, let us learn from Jesus and forget about the weights and look up to God to help us through.
This is because there are other people who may or may not be christians looking at our reactions to the problems and how we deal with it. Who may also need help.
Dear student, worker and ambassador of Christ no matter what happens in your life, God can lift you up ( lift your head) and help you overcome your challenges
2 Corinthians 2:14 says
But thanks be to God who always causes us to triumph……
God will always find a way of lifting us.
God be with you
Suggestions for success
1. Reflect over your activities during the week. Identify tasks and assignments that were difficult to finish.
2. Pray for God to help you finish them successfully. ( Lift up your head)
Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song
Why so downcast Oh my soul
Put your hope in God
Put your hope in God
Why so downcast Oh my soul
Put your hope in God
And bless the Lord Oh my soul
Bless the Lord
He’s the lifter of my countenance
Bless the Lord
He is the lifter of my head
I will never be ashamed
Amen
