Hate
Romans 12:17
Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men
Hate can be defined as a strong dislike for someone or something. Usually, people tend to hate people who offended or harmed them.
In the verse above, christians are discouraged from repaying evil with evil. As humans it is easy to feel like revenging or repaying those we hate with evil.
Romans 12:18 says
If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Meaning, do not hate or fight with others for offending you.
Matthew 6:44 says
But I say to you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for those who despitefully use you, and persecute you.
It is not easy to do what is in the verse above , since we serve a God who is”love” we also have to pray for grace and strength to love our neighbors as ourselves.
God be with you
Suggestions for success
1. Think about those who have hurt or offended you. Do you have a good relationship with them? If you do not have a good relationship pray for grace to love them sincerely in spite of their faults.
Prayer
Father in heaven, help me to live peaceably with all men.
Amen
