Hope maketh not ashamed
Romans 5:5
And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
To have hope is to expect to receive or obtain something you desire. The verse above says when you put your hope in God you will not be put to shame or disappointed.
I believe the bible gives us this assurance because sometimes what we expect from God might be delayed.
It is normal or not unusual to have low grades at school or bad assessment of output at work or poor response from the people you try to share the message of salvation with.
The message this week is, continue to hope and trust in God and you will not be put to shame.
Think about the words of this hymn
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust my sweetest frame (trying to implement your best plan or strategy without praying for God’s help)
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand.
God be with you
Suggestions for success
1. To improve your performance at school, pray and spend more time studying your books. If your results were good maintain the strategy you used
2. To improve your assessment at work, volunteer to do jobs that are not part of your schedule that you can do excellently.
3. To improve your soul winning techniques , study the bible more and try witnessing with a partner who has been more successful.
Prayer
Dear Lord, help me to keep hoping and trusting in you. Amen
