Jesus was tempted
Matthew 4:2-3
And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He was afterward an hungered. And when the tempter came to Him, he said, if thou be the Son of God, command these stones to be made bread.
Temptation is the desire to do what is wrong or unwise. Every human being whether saved or unsaved faces temptations frequently.
Matthew 4:2-3 tells us that even Jesus was tempted just like we are.
The evil one looks for situations when you are vulnerable like you are hungry, broke, sick etc. Then he strikes.
Jesus was tempted with food after He had fasted for forty days and forty nights. How did He fight off temptation, He used the word of God.
Matthew 4:4 says
But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Dear student, worker and ambassador of Christ, study the word of God like you study your textbook at school, or manual that guides you to perform your duties at work.
The devil will flee from you only when he sees that you know the word, believe it and apply it to your life.(Matthew 4:10-11)
God be with you.
Suggestions for success
1. When you realize you are weak and vulnerable confess the word of God and pray for grace and strength to overcome temptations.
Prayer
Let this song be your prayer
Shield me Lord
And comfort me
Build a wall of fire around me
Without you Lord
I am nothing
I need your grace and power to go on
Amen
