We have an anchor
Joshua 1:9
Be strong and of good courage. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed for I the Lord am with you whithersoever thou goest.

An anchor is a heavy object or metal attached to a cable or chain that keeps a ship firmly grounded and safe at the banks of a river (shore) even in a great storm.

That is what God does to His children. He is with us wherever we go and no matter what we do to ensure that we are safe and we do not drown in the storms of life.

The bible says in Isaiah 54:17 that

No weapon formed against us will prosper or be able to destroy us because the Lord is our anchor and prevents us from being destroyed

As a student, worker and ambassador of Christ, learn to hold unto your anchor, our Lord Jesus Christ. How can this be done?

Hebrews 10:23 says we should hold fast to the profession of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised.

And Hebrews 10:35 says cast not away thy confidence or faith in God for it has great recompense of reward ( great blessing)

1. Build your faith in the Lord daily by praying and trusting Him for your needs.

Prayer
Meditate on the words of this hymn

Will your anchor hold
In the storms of life?
When the clouds unfold
Their wings of strive
When the strong tides lift
And the cables strain
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Steadfast and sure
While the billows roll
Fastened to the rock
Which cannot move
Grounded firm and deep
In the Savior’s love.
