Thou shall not tempt the Lord [October 23,2022 ]

REFLECTIONS 🙄

October 23,2022

Thou shall not tempt the Lord
Matthew 4:7
And Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

To tempt the Lord is to frustrate His grace upon your life. That is to continue living in sin because God is merciful and forgiving.

Romans 6:1-2 says:
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? God forbid! How shall we that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

For example, you know the bible speaks against lying or telling lies. One of the ten commandments Deuteronomy 5:20 says:
Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbor (lie about your neighbor) But you keep telling lies when you are in trouble hoping to confess and ask for forgiveness later

Will God continue forgiving though you lie intentionally or deliberately ? When you do this you are tempting God.

Beloved student, worker and ambassador for Christ. When you keep commiting the same error expecting God to forgive you always, You are tempting God and you are not repenting sincerely.

When you are in a tight corner ( you are being pressed to choose between obeying God or conforming to the standards of this world) Remember , Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God.
God be with you

Suggestions for success
1. Reflect over your actions in the past week. Identify the sins you keep repeating. Ask God for grace and strength to overcome them.

Prayer
Think about the words of this song

He who keeps you will not slumber
The Lord is near unto all that believe Him
To all who put their trust in Him

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And lean not on your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge Him
And He shall direct
He shall direct your paths
Amen
