All things are lawful but not all things are helpful
Isaiah 26:8
Yes, in the way of thy judgements O Lord, have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.

Our utmost desire should be to glorify the name of the Lord is all we do.

Before you take any step in life or undertake any venture, ask yourself, will this glorify God?

If it will not glorify God, then it is not helpful and you will not improve your christian life in any way

The Psalmist said in Psalm 19:14 that:
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable unto you Oh Lord.

This should be our prayer each day.

1 Corinthians 6:12
All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

This verse from the new testament also emphasizes the need to consider our actions in the light of the gospel before undertaking any venture

It is important that whatever we do falls in line with what the bible teaches.
