Arise and build
Nehemiah 2:18
Then I told them of the hand of my God which was upon me, as also the King’s words he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengtheneth their hands for this work

“Arise and build” implies that it is time to work so let’s put all other things aside and get to work.

What work has God given us? Our call to work is given in Matthew 28:19-20. To go and win souls for the kingdom of God.

The world has heard the message of salvation over and over again.Most people are not responding positively because they look at the lives of christians and they are not encouraged

It is time to let our lights shine, so all men will see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven ( Matthew 5:16).

When we do this we will not have to preach much, people will willing come to us and ask us to show them the God we serve.

The lifestyle of the Prophet Daniel (he was saved from the lion’s den) and three Hebrew boys, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego ( saved from a burning furnace) was such that the king and all his people wanted to serve God ( Daniel 3 and Daniel 6)

Let’s stop backbiting, and show genuine love and concern for one another. Lets do good to those who mistreat us ( Romans 12:17-21). Then we can help build the kingdom of God by saving more souls

1 Peter 2:5
Ye also as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, as an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

This verse from the new testament reminds us to
Strive for holiness without which none of us can see God.

Arise and let us build!!!

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Determine in your heart to live a life that will be pleasing to God and will attract others to the kingdom.
2. Pray for grace and strength to fulfill this desire.
