Arise and build
Nehemiah 2:18
Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

God laid a burden on Nehemiah’s heart to rebuild Jerusalem, after they had been defeated in a battle and many of them including Nehemiah were living in exile.

Nehemiah’s burden for Jerusalem, cause him to pray earnestly and God gave him favor with the king who willing gave him all he needed to rebuild Jerusalem.

The verse above is part of a conversation he had with other Hebrews living in exile, who encouraged him to rise and build.

In a similar manner every christian has the favor and grace of God upon his/her life to be an ambassador of Christ. What we have to do now is to rise and win souls for the kingdom of God

2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine

In order to win souls we must preach the word. Present the message of salvation, correct, instruct and encourage lost souls.

Each of us have all we need to do this job. We have:
– The bible to train us on what to say, guide and direct us
– The privilege of coming before the throne of God to ask for favor and grace through prayer
– The Holy Spirit to teach us all things.

Arise and build!!
