Arise, shine! [March 17, 2021 ]
Arise, shine!
Isaiah 60:1
Arise, shine; for thy light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee
When you ask someone to “arise” it means the person is either asleep, sitting or resting and you want the person to be active.
In the verse above, the Lord commands the Prophet Isaiah to awake or get active because He has already given Him all it takes to fulfill his mission as a prophet.
In the same way the Lord is calling on each of us now to be active in fulfilling the “great commission” (Matthew 28:19-20) and every other command He has given us as Christians. We already have the grace and strength we need.
Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
How do we let our light shine? By doing good to all we come into contact will and fulfilling all God’s commands. As we do this others will be attracted and encouraged to serve our God
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. In our free time let’s spend time thinking of good works we could do. For example:
– You can share your lunch with a friend in school who does not have anything to eat.
-You can help an elderly person carry his/her grocery. You could also offer your seat in a bus to an older person.
– As an adult you could help a friend pay his children’s school fees
_You can share the gospel with a friend.etc.
Prayer
Immortal , Invisible God , thank you for this day. Help me glorify your name in all I do. Amen.
