Be patient in affliction
Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you
Be not dismayed, for I am your God
I will strengthen you
I will help you
I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
To be patient is to accept or tolerate delays or problems. It is very difficult to tolerate or accept delays and problems.
For example, how can one accept a situation where you are in great pain because you got hurt in an accident or you have just had surgery.
But the verse above says you should not fear or get dismayed because the Lord will strengthen you ( give you the energy you need), help you ( make it easier for you to bear the affliction)and uphold you (give you the ability to do what seems impossible).
You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. ( Philippians 4:13)
Romans 12:12
Rejoicing in hope; patient
In tribulation, continuing instant in prayer
The verse above emphasizes the need to be patient in affliction or tribulation by rejoicing in hope or having a great expectation for success or victory and remaining constant in prayer ( praying without ceasing)
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray and ask God to give you grace and strength to wait patiently for the Lord’s deliverance from whatever affliction you face.
Prayer
Let this be your prayer
I have made you too small in my eyes
Oh Lord forgive me
For I have believed in a lie
That you are unable to help me
But now Oh Lord, I see my wrong
Heal my heart and show yourself strong
And in my heart and in my song
Oh Lord be magnified
Amen.
