Be ready to serve the Lord [January 23,2022 ]
Be ready to serve the Lord
Micah 6:8
He hath shown thee, Oh man, what is good; and what the Lord requires of you, that you love justice, love mercy and walk humbly with the Lord (paraphrased).
God has clearly stated in His word the Bible, what He requires of us as ambassadors of Christ and what He desires of us as children and imitators of Christ.
Ephesians 5:1-2 says
Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you…….
The verse from Micah also says God has shown us what is good
and what the Lord requires of us that we love justice and mercy and walk humbly with the Lord.
1 Peter 4:10-11
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister; let him do it as of the ability which God giveth; that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion forever and ever.
This verse from the new testament reminds us that God has given each of us gifts He expects us to use to serve Him and bring others to Christ.
Identify your gift and use it to serve the Lord faithfully and willingly.
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Try and identify your gift and use it to serve God
2. You could identify your gift by assessing yourself and finding what function in church (e.g. teaching, prophesy, interpretation of tongue, check 1 Corinthians 12 for details on gifts) you love and can operate in by the grace of God.
Prayer
Let this be your confession and prayer
The greatest thing in all my life is serving you
The greatest thing in all my life is serving you
I want serve you Lord
I want to serve you Lord
The greatest thing in all my life is serving you.
Amen
