Build your house on the rock
Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the house, the labourers
labour in vain……

“Build your house on a rock” is a metaphor being used to describe how we should structure or lead our lives as christians.

In the verse above the Lord is the builder and we are the labourers. If we build our lives anyhow or anywhere apart from building on the rock ( The Lord Jesus) and without taking instructions from the master builder ( our Lord God) it will end in destruction.

The bible says in Jeremiah 29:11 that

For I know the thoughts that I think towards you saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a future and a hope.

According to the verse above God has good plans for our lives, we cannot go wrong if we submit to His will and direction.

Matthew 16:18
You are Simon Peter , and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

This verse from the new testament says Christ built the church on a rock. Why on Simon Peter? Because in spite of his flaws he was loyal and willing to do anything for the Lord.

That is all the Lord needs to use you, your flaws are not important because He can transform you. Without loyalty and the willingness to obey, nothing important can be accomplished.

This does not mean we should continue to sin.

Shall we continue to sin that grace may abound? God forbid! Romans 6:1

We should not continue to sin but commit our weaknesses to God for Him to transform us ( Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 12:8-9)
