Called to serve
Proverbs 31:8-9
Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed unto destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor.
The verse above brings out the fact that children of God are to defend or speak for those who are oppressed and judge them righteously. This is one of the major functions christians are required to perform.
We are saved not only for our own benefit but saved and called to serve God and the oppressed.
According to Paul and Silas in Acts 16:31
We are to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be saved. And members of our house or families are also supposed to be saved through our testimony as ambassadors of Christ.
1 Peter 4:10-11
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability God giveth: that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever.
To help us serve efficiently God has given each of us spiritual gifts for the edification of the church or to improve our worship of God in the church.
Always remember that when you become born again you are chosen and called to serve. (1 Peter 2:9)

1. Accept the fact that you have been called to serve and use your gift and talent to serve the Lord.
