Psalm 100:4
Enter His gates with Thanksgiving in your heart and His courts with praise ( paraphrased)

As humans it is easy for us to forget about all the blessings we have received from God when calamity strikes.

However, it is important to note that it is during times of trouble that we have to consider how faithful and good God has been to us.

It is then that you have to recollect that when you lost your last cedi by dropping it unconsciously and you prayed, God provided much more than you needed miraculously through a friend

The verse above says, enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. Meaning, you can get into God’s presence with Thanksgiving and praise.

Therefore, in times of trouble, reflect over how good God has been to you over the years ( count your blessings), let it activate the spirit of praise and Thanksgiving in your heart. This will lead you into the presence of God, where you can offload your burdens.

1 Thessalonians 5:17
In everything give thanks because this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

This verse from the new testament also reminds us of the importance of Thanksgiving in our lives.

The bible says in Psalm 22:3 that

God inhabits the praises of His people.

Thanksgiving and praise should be an important item on our agenda for each day.

1. Cultivate the habit of praising and thanking God each day.
