Do everything in love
Proverbs 17:17
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity
The famous chapter on love in the bible, 1 Corinthians 13 gives all the details on biblical love or agape love( the sacrificial, unconditional, God kind of love)
In my opinion, no human being can give that kind of love because we have our faults and limitations as humans. But we can try our best by the help of the Holy Spirit to give that kind of love.
The verse above says a friend loveth at all times and a brother is born for adversity. As christians we express love for one another, friends, family, and other relations. In relating to these people we should do our best to be fair and just.
1 John 4:7-8 says
Beloved let us love one another, for love is of God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God for God is love.
However, in dealing with one another, we should know where to draw the line in each of the relations mentioned above or we might create problems.
1 Corinthians 16:14
Let all things be done with love.
This verse from the new testament admonishes us to do everything in love. That is do everything with a pure motive not with the aim of destroying or hurting another.
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Be sincere and genuine in your relation with all people. Be guided by 1 Corinthians 13 and the song below.
Prayer
Think about the words of this song
If I speak in the tongues of men
Or I speak in the tongues of angels
But if I do not have love
I am nothing
I am just a noisy gong
Or a clanging cymbal
And if I give all I have
And my body to be burnt
But if I do not have love
I am nothing
I am just a noisy gong
Or a clanging cymbal
Love is always
Patient and kind
Love is never jealous or boastful
Love is never arrogant or rude
Not insisting on its own
Love bears all things
Oh yeah
Love is true
So, faith, hope and love abide
But the greatest of all these is love.
Amen
