Do not be distracted
Proverbs 4:25,27
Let thine eye look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee
Turn not to the right nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil

In my own words, I would say distraction means being moved away from your ultimate goal or purpose by temporary or permanent obstacles.

The verse above says we should not look to the right or left, we should stay focused and stay away from evil.

As Christians our major purpose is to fear God and keep His commandments (Eccelsiastes 12:13). The writer, King Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived, said that is the whole duty of man.

In life there are distractions like ill health, problems in relationships, demanding jobs etc. None of these things should distract us.

1 Corinthians 7:35
And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction

The verse above said we should attend upon the Lord or serve the Lord without distraction.

When we fall or encounter a major distraction, we should not wallow in self pity but find a way of bouncing back

The bible says;
Rejoice not over me Oh my enemy
For when I fall I shall rise
When I sit in darkness, the Lord will be light to me (Micah 7:8)
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray to for God to open your eyes to see the distractions in your life and help you overcome them.

Prayer
Loving Father, please help me overcome distractions and maintain my focus. Amen
