Do not stumble!!
Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I kept in my heart that I may not sin against you

“Do not stumble” means do not trip or lose your balance. In the world today, it is easy to trip or lose your balance as a christian because there are so many distractions.

The internet is full of all kinds of information, music, movies and entertainment that can mislead the youth. Even adults are at a risk. How can we prevent ourselves from getting distracted?

The verse above says we can hide the word of God in our hearts. Meaning, study the word of God so well that the Holy Spirit can bring it to our remembrance ( remind us) when we need it ( John 14:26)

Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction. ….

This verse from the new testament cautions us that the path that leads to sin and destruction is very easy to follow. Your actions mainly depend on your feelings.

But when you want to follow the path of righteousness ( narrow path) presented by Jesus it is not easy. How do you forgive 70*7 times? (Matthew 18:21-22)

It is not easy, let us pray for grace and strength to remain on the narrow path and not stumble.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in God and do the right at all times

Meditate on the words of this hymn

Courage brother do not stumble
Though path be dark as night
There is a star to guide the humble
Trust in God
And do the right

Some will hate you
Some will love you
Some will flatter
Some will slight
Cease from man
And look above thee
Trust in God
And do the right

Simple rule
And safest guiding
Inward peace
And inward might
Whether winning
Whether losing
Trust in God
And do the right.
