Establish yourself in the word
Psalm 119:38
Establish thy word unto thy servant, who is devoted to thy fear.

The word of God is powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing ……. These are words of the Apostle Paul in (Hebrews 4:12)

The Prophet Isaiah also emphasized the power of the word of God in (Isaiah 55:11)
He said the word of God does not go and come back void but it accomplishes what it has been sent to do.

If you want to nullify the effects of the evil ones temptations (that is what Jesus did on Matthew 4:1-10) then you have to study and memorize the word of God , such that it becomes part of you and you can turn to the appropriate verse in the bible anytime you are in trouble.

If you always find the word you need in the bible, then it can be said that you are established in the word as the verse quoted above states.

Colossians 2:7
Rooted and built up in Him, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving

The word of God should be your guide and manual in life. It contains God’s master plan for man.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Apart from having your quiet time daily , set time aside to study the word. You could do that over the weekend when there is no school or work.
2. Get CDs of messages preached by great men of God in our time. Listen to it over and over again.
3. You could also read and listen to messages on the internet.

Prayer
Almighty Father, plant and establish your word in my heart and mind. Amen.
