Lamentations 3:40
Let us search and try (examine) our ways, and turn again to the Lord.

It is important to check or examine yourself frequently to ensure that you maintain and keep your faith. This is because we live in a society that approves of unscriptural behaviour.

Do you always have to be motivated to work for the Lord? This could be a sign that you are not dedicated to the work of ministry(winning souls). You may be working for God only because of the rewards you will receive from God or the church

Check yourself, and turn to the Lord for direction and strength to remain faithful and dedicated to God.

2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

From time to time examine or assess yourself. Are you living according to the commands of the Lord? Do you read the bible and pray everyday? Or you give several excuses for not doing your quiet time or not praying? Are you enthusiastic about winning souls?

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Try to plan a schedule for yourself each week. Include all that you must do as a christian:
– Prayer time
– Bible study time
– Soul winning time etc
2. At the end of the week assess yourself and find ways of improving each item your agenda.

Prayer
Almighty God, thank you for your goodness and mercy that endures forever. Help me to remain in the faith. Amen.
