Find rest in the Lord
Isaiah 26:3
Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you
To find rest in the Lord, is to find solace in the Lord or to find comfort in the Lord during times of distress.
The message bible translation of the verse above says:
People with their minds set on you, you keep completely whole, steady on their feet, because they keep at it and do not quit.
It is not easy to keep your mind on God, His word and promises when everything around you is in chaos. You have to make a conscious effort to stop yourself from anxiety, fretting and worrying.
Psalm 37:4 says
Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall grant you the desires of your heart.
Hebrews 4:10-11
,For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from His. Let us labor therefore to enter that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
This verse from the new testament, says labor to enter into rest. Meaning, it is difficult for humans to find rest in the Lord.
We have a natural tendency to worry and find solutions to problems. Therefore setting our minds on the Lord takes a lot of effort.
However do all you can to keep your mind on things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely and things of good report as Philippians 4:8 says.
