From defeat to victory
Daniel 3:17-18
If it be so, our God, whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning furnace, and
He will deliver us out of thy hand, O king
But if not, be it known unto thee, O king that we will not serve thy god’s, nor worship the golden image which thou has set up

For the christian or believer in Christ, sometimes success or victory comes after the greatest defeat. I will support this statement with examples from the bible:
-The first one is on the story behind the passage quoted above from the book of Daniel. The three Hebrew boys, Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego obeyed God by not bowing to the golden image. Their faith was so strong they were prepared to die for it. They were arrested and thrown into a burning furnace. In the furnace when it seemed all hope was lost and they had been defeated, God sent an angel to deliver them.
– In the same book of Daniel, chapter 6, the Prophet Daniel also disobeys the king and is prepared to die for his faith. He is thrown into a den of lions but God delivers him.

There are other examples in the bible where men and women of God moved from defeat to success or victory. Abraham, Sarah, Hannah, Queen Esther, Job, the Prophet Jonah etc

Hebrews 11:33-34
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions
Quenched the violence of the fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made string, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies if aliens .

Bible scholars sometimes refer to Hebrews 11 as the “Hall of Fame,” for the great men and women of faith

In the passage above, reference is made to the three Hebrew boys and the Prophet Daniel as great men of faith.

Do not get discouraged when your problem gets worse after praying, God works in mysterious ways

There is a hymn that says

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform
He plants His foot step in the sea
And rides upon the storm.
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. No matter what happens to you, believe without any doubt that God will make a way.

Prayer
Lord, please increase my faith and trust in you.
Amen.

Meditate on words of another stanza of hymn quoted above

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense
But trust him for His grace
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smile
Amen
