Get to work!
Joel 2:31
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord

Work for the christian is to spread the gospel and win souls for the kingdom of God. We have limited time to do this work and it is important to start now.

The verse above gives one of reasons why we have limited time:
– The day of the Lord or the second coming of Jesus is near, it can happen any time from now. (Joel 2:31)
– We will grow old and weak soon and we cannot do the work anymore (Ecclesiastes 12:1)
– We will die at one point in time. The bible says it is appointed unto man once to die… ( Hebrews 9:27)

For the reasons given above we need to get to work now .

John 9:4
I must work the works of Him who sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work

This verse from the new testament again reminds us that it important to get to work now because a time is coming when we cannot work because:
– Jesus has already come
– We too old and weak to work so it is important to work in our youthful days
,- We will die one day and can no longer work.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Make specific plans on how you can spread the gospel every day.

Meditate on the words of this song

Work for the night is coming
Work through the sunny noon
Fill brightest moments with labor
Rest comes sure and soon
Gives to each fleeting moment
Something to keep in store
Work for the night is coming
When man works no more.
