1Samuel 18:10
And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times……

Gifts are special spiritual abilities God gives to individuals for the edification of the church like the gift of prophecy, gift of teaching, gift of healing etc. Talents are natural human abilities God gives every individual like singing, dancing etc, you can use to enhance your christian ministry e.g sing to win souls.

The verse above talks about King David’s talent of playing the harp that could calm King Saul when he was possessed. What is your talent? Identify it and use it to serve God. Your talent is usually something you can do without much effort.

1Corinthians 12:4
Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit

This verse confirms what I have already said about gifts. Have you identified your spiritual gift? It is usually a spiritual activity you can perform without your own ability, it is inspired like prophesying about someone’s future and giving directions on how to overcome a challenge or receive a blessing.

Matthew 25:15
Talks about how God gives each of us talents and expects us to use them instead of hiding them. He will reward each of us according to what we have done with our talents.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray and ask God to help you identify your gift and talent and use it for the edification of the church.
