Daily Word 🇬🇭

Gird up your loins

1 kings 18:46
And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded his loins, and run before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

To gird up your loins is to prepare yourself. In the verse above, Elijah prepared himself and was able to do exploits.

He run faster than the chariot of Ahab which was unusual. A human being cannot run faster than a cart being driven by horses.

This implies that it is important to prepare yourself before undertaking any venture.
Prayer and study of the word for direction is necessary. In addition to this
you need strength and wisdom from God.

Philippians 4:13 says

You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Luke 10:35
Let your loins be girded about, and your light burning.

Another translation of the verse above says:

Be ready for whatever comes. Dressed for action and with your lights lit.

This verse from the new testament says apart from prayer and study of the word, you need to
dress appropriately and get a lamp or light to direct you.

Ephesians 6:10-18 says you need to put on your spiritual armour and gives details on what the components of the armour are.

Begin each day by preparing adequately, spiritually for the challenges you may face.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Read your bible and pray everyday to prepare you for challenges you will face.

Prayer
Meditate on the words of this song

As the Lord has called us out of this world
Let us stay outside
He is looking for a righteous people
Holy in His sight
Looking for a people who have chosen that which pleases Him
And will freely say away from this world,’s attitude
And sin.
Amen
