God always hears our prayers
Isaiah 59:1-2
Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear
But your iniquities have separated between you and your. God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.

When answers to our prayers delay, we begin to question God’s faithfulness and goodness.

Psalm 23:6 says
Surely, goodness and mercy, shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The verse immediately above is a confirmation of God’s promise to be good (kind) and merciful(full of compassion) to His own.

Then why do answers to our prayers delay sometimes. One of the reasons for the delay is given in Isaiah 59:2. Our sin and disobedience separates us from God.

Some people say Romans 8:35-39 nullifies Isaiah 59:2 because it says nothing can separate us from the love of God. Note that it says ” separate us from the love of God” God loves the sinner but hates the sin that is why He made the plan for our salvation.

Psalm 5:4 says
For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
Meaning God hates sin

To remain close to God we must stay away from sin. Constantly pray for grace to be able to turn away from sin.

Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Note that in the passage above God promises to give us peace from our anxieties when we present our requests humbly ( supplication) and with Thanksgiving.

1. Try as much as possible to stay away from things that do not please God as stated in the bible
