God bless and keep thee
Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless thee and keep thee: The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee and give thee peace.
The passage above is the traditional blessing most ministers pronounce at the end of service. It requests God’s blessings, protection, grace/mercy, and peace for the week ahead. As we receive it, let’s remember to also ask God to fulfill this request in our lives.
Matthew 5:11-12
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and say all manner of things against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad: for great is your reward in he
aven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before thee.
Usually, when we face challenges we believe it is a curse or the evil one’s attacks. In these two verses from Matthew, Jesus explains that what might seem like a curse is actually a blessing in disguise. As we worship in the church today let’s take note of the blessing pronounced at the end of the service and ask God to give us the wisdom to see the blessings in the challenges that come our way during the week.
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Pray for blessings, protection, mercy/grace, and grace for each day.
2. Ask God to open our eyes and understanding to see the blessings in the challenges that come our way.
Prayer
Everlasting Father, thank you for seeing me through another week. I pray that you bless and keep me in the coming week. Amen
