God can save by many or by few
1 Samuel 14:6
….Come, and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us: for there is no restraint to the Lord to save by many or by few.

1 Samuel 14:1-23 gives account of a story where God used Jonathan ( the son of King Saul) and his amor bearer only to put in place a strategy to pave the way for Israel’s great victory over the Philistines( their long time enemies)

At the time, King Saul and the army of Israel were afraid and were hiding. They did not believe in the power of God to save by many or by few. Jonathan believed in God’s power and faithfulness.

God can do the impossible with one man or few people just as He can with many people.

In the book of Daniel, God used Daniel and the three hebrew boys to prove to the King and people of Babylon that He was the one true God.

Another example is the showdown God did through Elijah and the prophets of baal on mount Carmel. One man defeated all the prophets of baal through the power of the one true living God.
( 1 Kings 18:19-29)

Matthew 26:40
And He cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and said unto Peter, what, could you not watch with me one hour?

In Matthew 26: 36-46 in the new testament is an account of another instance where God uses a few people, only Jesus with no help from His trusted friends the disciples to save the whole world.

You can do much more than you think as an ambassador of Christ if you will surrender your will and life to God to use as He pleases.

1. Make yourself available for the Master’s use.

Meditate on the words of this hymn

Courage brother, do not stumble
Though thy path be dark as night
There’s a star to guide the humble
Trust in God
And do the right

Simple rule and safest guiding
Inward peace and inward might
Whether winning, whether losing( star upon our path abiding)
Trust in God and do the right
Amen
