God is our refuge
Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

A refuge is a place where you can find shelter, safety and comfort from a rain storm, a war or conflict or from an affliction.

According to the verse from the Psalms God is not only a refuge but our strength as well in life’s storms.

Learn to cast all your cares or troubles on Him for He cares for you. ( 1 Peter 5:7)

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. Who comforteth us in our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforteth of God

This passage from the new testament gives us another scenario on God being our refuge. It says God comforts or shields us in our affliction so that we can also comfort others in their affliction.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Trust in the Lord at all times.

Who is God besides our God?
And who is a rock besides our God?
A fortress and a shield
A tower of deliverance
Is He to all who trust in our king
