God will anoint you
Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek;He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.

The above declaration was made by the Prophet Isaiah. He was announcing the coming of the Lord’s favour upon Israel after a long period of suffering. The Prophet was assuring them of the Lord’s favour and deliverance. God anointed the Prophet Isaiah to preach the good news of redemption from their suffering. God can anoint you too to declare the good news of salvation by removing all your shortfalls or inadequacies and empowering you to step out in faith knowing that He will direct you on the scriptures to use and grant you favour with those you minister to.

Luke 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.

Our Lord Jesus read this declaration by the Prophet Isaiah in the synagogue and told His listeners that the prophecy had been fulfilled. Note this was after Jesus had fasted and prayed. If you want the anointing you must also fast , pray and ask God to anoint you. You do not have to fast 40 days like Jesus did. Fast according to the grace and strength God has given you,and God will anoint you.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. If you can fast just one day, just do that. However, you can do more than that if you can.
2. Find a time and place where you can be alone to fast,read the word and pray for the anointing.
3. You could use the words of this song to pray
Anointing fall on me
Let the power of the Holy Spirit fall on me
Anointing fall on me.
3. You could also ask your Pastor or prayer partners to help you.

Almighty Father, thank you for the gift of this day. Please anoint me to help me serve you faithfully and truly. Amen
