Good works are important
Proverbs 3:27-28
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee

The passage above highlights the behaviour of many people. Most people try to postpone help perhaps to give the false impression they are also suffering to prevent consistent requests for help.

This is a wrong attitude. If God blesses you out of love and mercy be willing to help others to show your appreciation to God and to attract others to God as well.

Matthew 5:16
Let your life so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven

As you assist your neighbour(anyone who needs your help you show that God is love and make people reconsider their decision of not serving God.

It also confirms that God is a good God and glorifies His name. Your gift of love to someone you preach to may help him or her decide to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. As you budget for each month as a worker or student who gets pocket money from parents, set something apart, it does not have to be big, to give to a beggar or help pay someone’s school fees
2. You could think of several other things to do
3. Always remember our exhibition of the love of God by giving as Christians will help change the world and bring many to Christ.

Dear God, help me give as often as I can to attract others to You. Amen.
