Hope maketh not ashamed
Proverbs 23:18
There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off

Having an expectation to overcome all challenges and obstacles and excelling is usually referred to as hope. To have hope is to have great expectations

The verse above assures us that we have an expectation of excelling in future and this expectation will not be cut-off or rejected by God. Why?

The answer can be found in Jeremiah 29:11 it says
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you. Thoughts of peace and not of evil. To give an expected end or some translations say to give you a future and a hope.

God has our welfare at heart therefore He will not destroy our expectations for the future.

Romans 5:5
And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our heart through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

This verse from the new testament says ” hope maketh not ashamed”
Meaning God will not allow our great expectations to be destroyed. He will bring them to pass or make them a reality.

Psalm 37:4 says
Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will grant you the desires of your heart
God be with you

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Always hope for the best.

Prayer
Think about the words of this hymn

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness
I dare not trust my sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name
On Christ the solid rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand
Amen
