I am on the Lord’s side
Joshua 24:15
And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, chose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your father’s served on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

The words in the verse above were spoken by Joshua, Moses ‘ successor, to the people of Israel . The Israelites, who were naturally stubborn and dis obedient had turned away from God and were following other gods in spite of the many miracles and blessings they had received from God.

Joshua was displeased with their behavior and asked them to chose between Jehovah God Almighty and the other god’s.

The Prophet Isaiah also faced a situation where he had to chose between responding to Jehovah God Almighty ‘s call and going his own way.

Isaiah 6: 8 says
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I ; send me.

In the same way each of us Christians have a call to fulfill the Great Commission given in Matthew 28:19-20.

Will you like the Prophet Isaiah answer, Here am I, send me? When you do this, you are on the Lord’s side and you will be blessed and rewarded abundantly.

1 Corinthians 9:27
But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified

It is good to respond to the call of God and preach his word. However, there is another dimension to being on the Lord’s side.

As you preach the word, you should also be cautious of how you live your life or you might be disqualified from the race.

Follow, the Apostle Paul’s example, discipline yourself and conform to the principles of God given in the Bible, and preach the gospel as well
