Iron sharpeneth iron
Proverbs 27:17
Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the counternance of his friend

A metal knife can be sharpened well only with another metal knife or any other metal. The rubbing together of the two metals gives the desired effect.

In the same way, close relation of two believers results in believer’s with strong faith. I teach you what I know and you teach me what you know. I help you up when you fall and you help me up when I fall.

The explanation given above is confirmed in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
It says two are better than one for they have a good reward for their labor…..

Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching

This verse from the new testament confirms the explanation given above that iron sharpeneth iron.
