Jehovah Mekoddishkem
Leviticus 20:7-8
Consecrate yourselves, therefore and be holy, for I am the Lord your God. Keep my statutes and do them, I am the Lord who sanctifies you.
Jehovah Mekoddishkem means, The Lord who sanctifies you. To sanctify means to make holy or cleanse from sin. Sanctification is very important to God. In the old testament while the people of Israel were moving into the promised land, God told them: Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow I will do wondrous things among you.
Hebrews 10:10
And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
According to the verse above God sacrificed His Son Jesus to sanctify us. This also confirms that sanctification is important to God. It can be said that sanctification is a requirement for receiving miracles, blessings and goodness from God.
God be with you.
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. To be sanctified, accept the gift of salvation.
2. Pray and prepare to receive miracles and blessings from the Lord God.
Prayer
Loving Father, thank you for the gift of salvation. Help me to stay away from sin and live for you. Amen.
