Learn to sacrifice
Genesis 22:8
And Abraham said, My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both together.

In the verse above Abraham was asked to make a sacrifice. He left his dwelling with his men and his son but with no goat or ram for a sacrifice. His son asked him, where is the goat to be sacrificed and he said the Lord will provide. Trusting that God will make a way even though he had been asked to sacrifice his son. And God did.

To sacrifice is to give up something of value for another’s sake. Christianity is built on a foundation of a great sacrifice. Jesus dying on the cross to save us.

John 3:16 says
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son….

When you accept the gift of salvation you surrender your life and will to God to use as He desires.

Romans 12:1
I beseech you therefore, brethren by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

This verse explains further what we have to sacrifice to God. We are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice.

This means our desires and will are sacrificed to God. We do what God wants us to do before we consider our own needs. Galatians 2:20 says
I have been crucified with Christ and it is no longer I that lives but Christ that lives in me……

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Be willing to do whatever the bible requires you to do as your reasonable service to God
