Daily Word

Let no man despise your youth

Proverbs 3:1-2
My son forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.

These are the words of King Solomon, the author of the book of Ecclesiastes. He entreats (request earnestly) his son or the youth to obey his instructions in order to have a successful life. Obeying the word and commands of God gives property and good success (Joshua 1:8).

1 Timothy 4:12
Let no man despise thy youth; but be an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

The dictionary defines despise as (regarding something as worthless). In the verse above the Apostle Paul encourages the youth to be an example to believers(those who believe in God) in word , conversation, love(charity), in spirit, faith and purity. This advise is good not only for the youth but to all Christians, old and young. We should not give unbelievers the chance to despise us or disrespect God because of our actions.
God be with you.

How can I apply the word to my life?.
1. Study the bible to know what God expects from you as a christian and pray for the grace to do it.
2. Seek to please God in all you do at all times.

Prayer
Almighty God, thank you for the gift of another day. Help me to glorify you in all I do. Amen.
