Let there be light!!
Genesis 1:3
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light

Light was the first thing God created. He just called it into being- Let there be light and there was light. God in His great wisdom knew , light was the most important thing.

You cannot do anything meaningful in darkness. Most things done in darkness are evil and unclean and need to be covered.

Scripture says in Matthew 5: 14-16 that

You are the light of the world….

Being the light of the world as christians means we give hope and direction to the world. God’s word to us is- Let there be light. In other words let your lives be such that it gives direction and hope to the world

John 1:5
And the light shined in darkness and the darkness could not comprehend the light

This verse from the new testament says that darkness cannot accommodate light. A small spark of light like that of a star or stars makes a lot of difference in a dark night

The Lord is our light and salvation …(Psalm 27:1)
Let us shine our lights through our deeds and way of life to give hope and guidance to the world.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Do good works ( Matthew 5:16)

Meditate on the words of this song

Let the beauty of Jesus be seen in me
All His wonderous compassion and purity
Oh thou Spirit divine
All my nature refine
Till the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.
