One step at a time
Psalm 37:23-24
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord
And He delighted in His way. Though He fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand

There is a song that says

One step at a time,
Only one step at a time
This is the way the Lord will lead you
One step at a time
Take this one step carefully
Walk this one step carefully
This is the way to victory
One step at a time.

God leads His children one step at a time. A perfect example of this can be seen in Genesis 12:1 where God called Abram later known as Abraham.

He asked him to leave his land and kindred into a land that He will show him.

How does Abraham explain to his family where he was going? I am leaving to a place I do not know because God asked me to? Everyone will think it is absurd.

I believe God leads us one step at a time because:
– If God shows us everything we will resist the call because of the obstacles and challenges in our way
– We will stop depending on Him because we already know everything
– We will fail if we stop depending on Him.

The Psalmist says the steps of the righteous
are ordered by God. Do not seek to know everything before you respond to the Lord’s call to win souls. He will lead you one step at a time.

1 Thessalonians 4:1
Furthermore then, we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye abound more and more.

Always aim at pleasing God in all you do and He will lead you step by step. Do not be in a rush, God knows what He is doing. Trust Him completely.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Surrender your life to God by accepting the gift of salvation. Read your bible and pray everyday and go out and win souls for the kingdom of God.

Lord in the fullness of my might (that is in my youth)

Oh not for thee my weak desires
My poorer baser parts
Oh not for thee my fading fires
The ashes of my heart

The fullness of my heart
