Open the flood gates of heaven!

Malachi 3:8

Bring all the tithe into the storehouse…..See if I will not open the flood gates of heaven, and pour out blessings you cannot contain ( paraphrased)

The phrase “Open the floodgates of heaven mean” reminds christians of the scripture that says God will open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings we cannot contain.

This is exactly what the verse above says. But there is a condition attached- bring your tithes and offerings to the storehouse or church.

Jesus Himself taught us in Mark 12:17 that

…. give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s

This means giving to promote the gospel is very important because God wants all men to be saved.( 1 Timothy 2:4-6)

Fulfill your ministry as an ambassador of Christ by:
– Preaching the gospel ( 2 Timothy 4:2)
– Giving to promote the gospel ( Malachi 3:8)

Then, God will open the floodgates of heaven and pour out blessings you cannot receive

Matthew 6:11-13
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us…

This verse from the new testament reminds us that it is God who provides our daily bread- He is our provider.

If God provides for us daily then we must be willing and faithful in preaching the word and giving to promote the gospel.

1. Be a cheerful giver

Prayer
Let this hymn be your confession and prayer

There shall be showers of blessing
This is the promise of God
There shall be seasons refreshing
Sent from the Savior above

Showers of blessings
Showers of blessings we need
Mercy drops round us are falling
But for the showers we plead
Amen
