Our deliverance
Isaiah 43:1
…..I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, You are mine.
To redeem means to deliver. The verse above says God has already redeemed all of us as christians.
Then the question is why do we constantly fall into situations where we need deliverance?
The bible says in 1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion , seeking whom he may devour.
We are delivered but our adversary the devil, keeps creating situations that makes it seem we need deliverance. If you fall for his tricks you become a casualty
But if you know who you are in Christ and you believe His word, then in such situations you stand on the word of God and affirm your deliverance.
Matthew 6: 13
……And lead us not into temptation. But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever
The passage above is an excerpt from the Lord’s prayer. Jesus knew knew we will have to affirm our deliverance each day. So He asked to pray for deliverance each day.
He has all the power to deliver us from any challenge. Let’s keep trusting God.
God be with you
How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Study the word and do what it says.
Prayer
Think about the words of this hymn
Begone unbelief
My Saviour is near
And for my relief will surely appear
By prayer let me wrestle
And I will prevail
With Christ in the vessel
I smile at the storm
Amen
