Pay your tithe
Proverbs 3:9
Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of thy increase.

The tithe is 10% of your income and you must give it faithfully each month. It fulfills the biblical/spiritual principles of giving generously for the upkeep of ministers of God, giving to the poor and needy and laying up treasures in heaven.

Tithing is seen as giving to God and like the teachings in the bible on giving states:
– When you tithe or give you will receive good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.( Luke 6:38)
– When you tithe or give God will open the windows of heaven and poor down His blessings on your life ( Malachi 3:10-11)

Matthew 23:23
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgement, mercy and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

The Apostle Matthew gives us the other things we have to treat as important apart from tithe in the verse above:
-Mercy or being kind and forgiving
-Faith or believing without any doubt that God is able to do all things

When tithing, do not think you are giving out too much of your income when you have other financial obligations to settle. Give the right amount faithfully each month.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. As soon as you receive your salary, take out the 10% first before anything else.
2. If you are a student learn to give 10% of your pocket money or allowance. When you are faithful over little God will give you more in due time.
