Pray for direction
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths.

To pray for direction is to tell God you trust Him with all your heart and you not want to rely on your own understanding as the passage above says.

It is important to seek direction in life and our ministry as ambassadors of Christ because the bible says in Proverbs 29:18 that

….my people perish for lack of vision.

There is a proverb that says

Those who do not plan for life are planning to fail. In the bible many of the prophets and leaders asked for direction from God before undertaking any venture or assignment.

As Moses led the Israelites through the desert into the promised land He always asked God for direction:
– When they needed a way of escape from the Egyptians, he talked to God and he asked him to stretch his rod over the sea. He did and the sea parted for them to escape ( Exodus 14:21-27)
– When they needed water , he talked to God, God asked him to strike a rock. He did and they had water ( Numbers 20:10-13)
-She talked to God when they needed food and God sent manna first and later quails

In the new testament the Apostle Paul also talked to God for direction:
-When he was locked up in jail with Silas, they prayed and sang praises and God made a way. ( Acts 16:25)
– When he was on a missionary journey and got caught up in a storm and ended up on the island of Malta. He asked asked God for direction. And he made a way.( Acts 27)
– Before the great and final trial in Rome, he asked God for direction and God showed him what to do ( Acts 24- Acts 28)

As ambassadors of Christ and christians in the end times we need to seek direction from God. Without God’s direction we will err. We need to ask God for:
-The right scripture to minister to the unsaved and the saved
– The style of ministry to use, music, drama, crusades, preaching the word through the internet, giving our money and time, etc. ?
– How to acquire funds to use in our ministry
– How to work together as the church of God globally

Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all thy saints.

This verse from the new testament shows us how to ask for direction from God. We can do so by praying always for ourselves and fellow workers in the vineyard of God.

Prayer should be on our agenda each day. We should pray like we eat each day for survival. Pray in the morning, afternoon and evening.
