Purify me
Psalm 51:10
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

The bible says we are all descendants of Adam, therefore, we are born with sin. This implies that even if you think you have done no wrong you are still a sinner. It also says in Isaiah 64:6 that our righteousness is like filthy rags.

When we are born again or accept the gift of salvation, the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sins. Yet because of our natural tendencies we drift into sin from time to time.

It is important to start each day with a prayer like Psalm 51:10. Create in me a pure heart and renew a right spirit within me.

2 Corinthians 7:1
Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.

The verse above says we should stay away from everything that contaminates(defiles or makes us unclean).

We should make a conscious effort to avoid anything that is wrong based on scripture.

How can I apply the word to my life?
1. Study the word to know what is acceptable and unacceptable in the sight of God.
2. Pray for grace and strength for God to help you stay away from things that contaminates you.

Prayer
Loving Father, thank you that your love for me endures forever. Help me stay away from sin. Amen.
